Just want to let you know about a few events going on in April. Tomorrow night, 4/2, BCHS is giving a presentation to the Crofton Chase Home Owners' Association and asking them for a symbolic vote of support (helps us when dealing with politicians/civic leaders to be able to say communities are behind us). If you think your HOA would likely support us or want to hear about our cause, let me know and we will pitch it to them (or if you wish to, we will provide full support).
April 7th, 6:30pm, we will be meeting at the County Council public hearing in Annapolis (Arundel Center, 44 Calvert Street) to testify in support of Councilman Jamie Benoit's bill. The meeting starts at 7pm. There is a possibility this one will be longer than the normal 20 minutes & done, depending on where his bill falls on the agenda. Feel free to come down and stand in support!
April 8th, 7pm, the Greater Crofton Council will be hosting a community meeting with Councilman Benoit to go over the details of his bill. This will be at Waugh Chapel in the Village of WC Community Center (past Robert Andrew and Smoothie King). The entire community of Crofton is invited to attend. We will definitely have representation there.
April 26th, 10am-4pm, we will have a table at the Festival on the Green at the Crofton Country Club. Bring the family and stop by and say hello. We will have bumper stickers on sale and we'll be answering questions about our progress so far.
April 30th, 7pm, we will be having our first BCHS Community Meeting of the year at the Crofton Library (in the meeting rooms). We would love to see you all there!
2014 has been a good year so far and we have made some big strides! We have been getting a lot of local media attention and have met with a lot of politicians (both in office and some running for office, even had one candidate for Governor publicly support us).
We'll be putting together a mid-April newsletter. Keep promoting the cause at your schools and spread the word. Together we will get a high school built for our kids!
Feel free to contact me with any ideas, questions, and or concerns.
